Food & Drink
Shela meals are done buffet style. If you're eating out, you pay to enter the dining area, and all food is placed on one big table. You'll usually be expected to provide your own bowl, knife and spoon, though the inn/eating house should provide washing up water for you. Seating arrangements are very casual - expect to sit on the floor. If you go somewhere a little more high class, the venue may provide mats or cushions to sit on.

Drink
Even if you go and eat somewhere fancy, don't expect a huge variety in the way of drinks. There will generally only be one variety of juice and/or wine, made from whatever fruit is locally available. Drinking tea is relatively rare (most Shela teas are medicinal). Wherever you go, however, you can expect to find water, though it probably won't be pure. Usually it is flavoured with herbs or a little juice. This flavouring is usually quite subtle - if it isn't, it may be a sign that someone is trying to hide the quality of the water.
